Have you ever wondered how you would react in a traumatic situation? People claim that they would do the brave or honourable thing, but the truth is that you don't honestly know until you are placed in that scenario, and more importantly, you don't know how it would affect you afterwards. How would you make sense of what happened, and what psychological imprints would you be left with?
Unfortunately, none of these questions can be answered by speculation or conjecture, only by first-hand experience because everybody reacts differently in the same situation.
This story is about one man's reaction to one of those situations. He's just a normal man, no hidden powers or Hollywood heroics. He could be someone you work with or live next door to. He could be someone you've lived with for the past ten years. He could even be you. When you have more to worry and think about than just taking your library books back on time, or missing the latest episode of your favourite TV program, you see the world in a different way to everybody else. When you feel that nothing is real, and nothing really matters anymore, you find out who you really are. But would you really want to?
